This was home while we were in Normandy.Beautiful cottage in the small hamlet of Cibrantot...about 2-3 miles outside Ste Mere Eglise and about a mile from the beach at Ravenoville.

The entrance to our cottage is on the right at the end of the tree line.

These cows were also our neighbors. About 150 of them! Quite an aroma! I took this pic at about 8:30 pm. The sun sets in Normandy between 9:30 and 10:00 pm in August!

House in Ste Mere Eglise. I could retire here! I wonder if they are motivated sellers?

Road leading to Ravenoville. Pretty narrow!

This church is located about a mile down the road from the cottage. It was used as a makeshift hospital for wounded Americans during the German counterattack on Ste Mere Eglise, which is about 2 miles away.

Plaque on wall across from the church
explaining what happened there during D-Day.

McDonald's near Carentan(actually located in Insigny)
"Hank" and I had to negotiate heavily with the girls
to eat here. You clean that fireplace yet, Philip Henry?

We found this campground right on the beach at Ravenoville. My sister and I went into the office to ask about playing miniature golf, which turned out to be some sort of billiards game. Anyway, the woman running the campground told us to enjoy the place, even though we weren't even staying there!
Merci, madame!

I took this picture of a hedgerow I spotted on a side road while driving into Ste Mere Eglise one morning.
